BUCKETMOUTH BOVVER BOY

The bovver boy of the Labor party is at it again.

Mark Latham, the volatile loudmouth has been brought back from backbench purgatory to Simon Crean’s frontbench.

But the Shadow Cabinet responsibility hasn’t meant he has washed his mouth out.

Latham was the man who last year called our Prime Minister an “ arselicker” to President Bush.

In the current Iraqi war debate he has taken a swipe at the entire government front and back benches.

Latham said “ The backbench sucks up to the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister sucks up to George W – they’re a conga line of suck-holes on the conservative side of politics.”

And he is no more temperate when talking about the president of our major ally.

He described President Bush as “ the most incompetent and dangerous president in living memory”. Latham called the president “ flaky and dangerous”.

And then made the preposterous claim that George Bush was promoting a war with Iraq to and I quote revenge his father’s mistake”. George Bush senior was president when 30 countries – Australia included – went to war with Iraq the last time a decade ago,

Now I heard Simon Crean on Mitchell on 3AW this morning and he was asked about Latham’s vulgarities and couldn’t he, as leader, control him.

Crean sidestepped the question. He merely said something like it is not language he would have used. And in my opinion that is not good enough.`

Especially when bucketmouth Latham hopes to be Prime Minister himself one day.
