THE RAPE CLUB

Sometimes you have to ask the question: How can this be?

According to news reports today an Internet “chat group” – whose members boast about raping women – has been operating here in Australia for more than a year.

And, to make this foul site even worse, it has been operating on one of Australia’s most popular websites and most influential websites – NineMSN. It’s a joint venture between Kerry Packer’s Nine Network and Bill Gates.

The disgusting so-called “discussion group” goes by the name the Rape Club. It claims nearly seventy members and even has offers to share photos of rape victims.

One post, recorded last month says: “Anyone want to see some real pics of a girl that I’ve raped just let me know ‘cause I got some good ones”.

Now, we all know there are sickos on the Internet. Everything from child pornography to bestiality. It is the reckless and uncensored nature of the Net that it can’t be controlled. And it will get worse – if that’s possible.

But how could a respectable Internet company like NineMSN have no quality control? And how could this putrid stuff stay on their website for more than a year?

To make it even worse the Rape Club intro has a NineMSN welcome.

It says: “Welcome to Rape Club. Whether you are a manager, member or visitor here, we hope you enjoy this NineMSN group”. As I said… where was the quality control ? The decency control? Somebody at NineMSN had to type that into the system.

In fairness NineMSN removed the brutally offensive site last night. How it got there in the first place I do not know yet.
